Cloud servers Mirohost

Mirohost Cloud

We offer two different virtualization systems: shared(ms1) and dedicated(md1). In shared tariffs, a virtual server is allocated virtual cpu/memory, which is distributed among other virtual machines on the server, while in dedicated tariffs, dedicated processors and memory are reserved for each server.

The Mirohost Cloud solution is built on Intel® Xeon® Gold, AMD EPYC™ servers and high-speed NVMe solid-state drives

We use official builds of operating systems for cloud technologies, which include the cloud-init system. These are so-called general purpose images. All images of all operating systems are automatically updated weekly. When the virtual machine is started, the vendor cloud-init script is launched, that sets the root password generated for the machine, registers the ssh-key on the machine, installs qemu-guest-agent, if it was missing in the official image, modifies the ssh config, allowing password connection . You can also manually install a virtual server by choosing one of the offered ISO images to create a new virtual machine.

Can I use my images for virtual machines?

At the moment, we do not provide such an opportunity. Please write a request to the technical support service, indicate which image you need, we will consider the possibility of adding the image you need.

What is included in the tariff?

We provide computing resources in the number of processors, memory and disk that are specified in the tariff. Also, each server is allocated public IPv4, IPv6 addresses and the ability to make 7 copies of a virtual machine. There is also a limit on outgoing traffic from a virtual machine of 25Tb/month

Are there speed limits for incoming/outgoing traffic?

At the moment, the speed of incoming and outgoing traffic is set at the level of 1Gbit/sec for all tariffs.

What will happen if the traffic limit is exhausted?

The outgoing traffic limit is introduced so that customers control their traffic and do not tend to abuse it. There are no restrictions on exceeding the traffic. We have data on incoming and outgoing traffic for each virtual machine for any period of its operation.

Is it possible to switch from eVPS to cloud?

The eVPS solution is designed to host various websites on the Mirohost infrastructure and has its own dedicated control panel to manage all aspects of web hosting. The control panel of the cloud server is not bound and does not know the content of the virtual machine, its configuration, and manages the machine as a blackbox.

If you need to switch from an eVPS package to a cloud server, the data transfer is done on your end. After the transfer to the new tariff, the client needs to deal with the support and development of this project by himself. Usually, for the initial launch, you need to transfer the content of the directories /etc/nginx, /etc/apache2, /etc/mysql, /etc/php, /var/www, /var/log, /var/lib/mysql and install the necessary packages yourself. To receive the server configuration of the eVPS tariff - write a request to technical support, from the owner's account or from the service owner's contact e-mail.

I don't remember the root password. What shall I do?

We do not store passwords from virtual machines (VMs) that are under your use. The administrator password is sent to the mail once at the time of VM creation. If the password changed after that and you forgot it, we recommend using the function of setting a new password through the control panel, the "Rescue" - "Root password" section

rescue root passwd

rescue root pass

### Is it possible to control the VNC console using mobile devices and tablets?

We do not recommend doing this, because working through a mobile device is associated with limited control due to the size of the mobile device. The browser does not consider the VNC console window to be an input point, so it does not allow you to use the on-screen keyboard when the focus is inside the VNC console. The only way to enter something into the VNC console in this case is to switch to another window on the mobile device, type text there, copy the text to the clipboard and paste it into the VNC console via the Paste Clipboard button. Pressing the buttons with your finger usually works if you use a graphical terminal. Also, some browsers such as Safari can block the opening of a new window when opening a VNC session.

### How can I change my rate?

Currently, the tariff plan can only be changed to an increase, that is, you can switch, for example, from ms11 to ms21 by writing a request to technical support. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to lower the tariff.

Tariff reduction is possible by ordering a new server, the data transfer done by the client. After closing the old virtual server, the funds are recalculated.
